Kia ora Koutou. I have the privilege of being the Principal of our busy and complex school in the heart of Palmerston North. I have been a principal of three other schools before my appointment at Central Normal School, Te Kura Tuatahi o Papaioea.. I have a special historical connection with our school as both my parents attended Central Normal and I was Deputy Principal here in the late1980s.

Educational Leadership is an absolute passion of mine. Leading and supporting learning is a core role for me. I am so proud of our tamariki and the effort and enthusiasm they put into their learning.

In the wider educational setting, I am involved in helping to develop our new and future principals and school leaders. In my spare time I love reading, spending time with family and friends, and travelling… especially to Australia and Chicago to visit our five gorgeous granddaughters and their wonderful parents.

I am very proud of our school and invite you to visit and spend some time with us.

Kia ora - my name is Elly Warnock and it is my absolute privilege to be joining the team at Central Normal School this year as Deputy Principal. For the past 8 years, I have been the Assistant Principal at Russell Street School here in Palmerston North. As well as my Leadership responsibilities that included curriculum development, pastoral care and mentoring staff, I taught a range of age groups from New Entrant to Year 6. My passion lies in empowering students and staff to be the very best version of themselves. My role as Deputy Principal at CNS involves coaching and mentoring our staff to ensure the best outcomes for our students. I will also be working alongside our Massey Teachers as they begin their initial teacher education. Above all for 2018, I look forward to getting to know you - the students, whānau and wider community of Central Normal School. Ngā mihiElly

Kia ora, I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to be acting assistant principal this year. I have previously taught in both Matanginui and last year was the team leader of Maharahara. I am excited to work alongside all of our teachers and tamariki this year and look forward to getting into all of the classrooms. I am passionate about teaching and learning and believe that every child has their own talents and strengths that are just waiting to be discovered. I love playing sport and you will often see me out in the playground playing games with students (some of you may even play against me at netball). Please feel free to come and say 'hi' or ask me a question! Nga mihi.
