Central Normal School is a vibrant learning environment where we encourage whanau to share all learning with their tamariki. There are regular events that enable students to demonstrate their increasing understanding across all curriculum areas.
We offer quality teaching and learning by providing diversity and variety throughout our teaching teams. Each team provides stimulating and exciting learning opportunities for students making use of modern learning environments and ICT.
At Central Normal School classrooms are colourful, organised and reflect children’s learning.

At Central Normal School, we believe that the active and authentic involvement of students in their learning is crucial to engagement and achievement.
Students actively drive WISE within the school.
We believe that students are the heart of Central Normal School and actively seek student voice to make OUR school a great learning environment.
Next week we will be having a Lockdown practice at school.
A lockdown would be used at any time when we need to keep our tamariki safe and secure.
The lockdown practice will support our children with understanding what to do in such an event.
In the event of an actual lockdown, we would inform you via Facebook that we were in a lockdown situation.
During a lockdown, no-one would be allowed to enter or exit the school, without the authorisation of the Police or Principal. After our lockdown practice has been completed, our children may share with you what they did during the procedure.
