Dear Parents,
It is good to have a sunny day,
we all hope the wind stays away for a while.
Caring
for our school and each other
Recently every class has been having conversations
about how we all help to look after our school and each other. We will continue to do this. One way parents can help us is by encouraging
children to tell us when they see something that isn’t right at school. We are reinforcing that it is OK to tell an
adult. We want our school to always be happy and safe.
We have been pleased to welcome Wasuwila
and Matthew to our

Writing from the classrooms – I love reading the great writing our children
produce. Here are some more examples.
Daily
Dash (10minute writing) by Catherine Reynolds Room 9
It was a dark and stormy night,
I was snuggled up between my blankets shaking fretfully. The weather was having an endless
tantrum. The wind howled again. The clouds wept again. I sank further into my bedclothes. There came a flutter of my eyelids, and I
fell asleep. The thunder roared
violently like a hungry lion, shaking my house.
I tossed and turned, still fast asleep.
The next morning, when I awoke, the heavens had opened
again. I just lay there, listening to my
alarm clock beeping in my ear. An ant
was crawling up the wall next to me, so I decided to redirect my attention to
it.
When I got outside, the ‘lake’ outside my house was
fuller than ever! Jonathan splashed in
it, which I found quite annoying. Yahoo. Keep up the
bad weather. I’m sick of it!!!!!
Daily
Dash 10 minute writing by Alex Hoare Room 9
The Sun was bright but the race course was a dark,
dull grey colour with white markings. A
loud screech came as two karts raced in front of me, they looked like colourful
blurs. The karts raced by again and
again. To our right a man held out a
sign saying ‘Last Lap”. The first two
karts quickly came around the corner it seemed like forever that they raced to
come 1st. ZOOM! They sped
part the finish line, but it was hard to tell who won: my big brother Andrew or
his competitor. They were racing for the
title for North Island Champion!
Mum, Dad, Wendy, James and I walked over to the ‘Tech Shed’.
“Who won? I
asked excitedly.
“Andrew” Dad replied.
“Yes!! James yelled, I let
out a breath I didn’t know I had held.
Andrew walked out of the ‘Tech Shed”. Everyone came to congratulate him on his win.

about Right Choice Day.
Right
Choice Day By
On Right Choice Day I played Library Games. I played with Holly. I kept winning out of Holly,
and I think we did Right Choice Day because this school has been good every
day. I am proud of this school.
Right
Choice Day by Shonika Room 21
Yesterday I went to do bubbles at Right Choice Day
because it was for a reward. I think it
was for a treat and for having fun, because I have been good at school.
Right
Choice Day by Paris Room 21
Yesterday it was Right Choice Day and I did Big
Skipping ropes and it was excellent and I can do dkipping
for very long and fast. Why we had Right
Choice Day, it was a reward for saying thank you for being a cool kid and I was
the best skipper.
Middle
School Choir
Yesterday Miss Lummus and a
number of parents took the choir to Metlife Care. The children’s singing was excellent and their
interaction with the elderly residents was most
appropriate. Well Done
and thank you everyone.
