Welcome to another busy week. We have certainly
had our share of rain. A special thank you to all of our children who are
showing our virtue of responsibility. Every day I see children being
responsible both in their learning and their manners. Well done.
Assemblies:
Each week I
visit some of the team assemblies. I am so proud of what I see and hear at
these. They ‘blow me away’ with the work the children show and read, their
confidence in speaking with the microphone, the way they present each other
with certificates with respect and care. Our
Sharing Book: Tomorrow
is a special day for us. It is the time when we send our sharing books to you for the first time
this year, For families who are new to our school these books are intended to
share with you some of the work and learning children are doing in
their class. We hope that you make some quality time to sit with your child and
talk about their learning.
These are
very special books and I see them as a wonderful ‘year book’ of learning.
Thank you
children and staff for all the work you have put into these. I am very proud
of the
children and their books Please write some encouraging comments to your child
and
return the book to school so we can continue with our learning journey.
Joy Watson…visiting author
Last week several
of our children had the wonderful opportunity to workshop with Joy Watson. Joy
is a very well known
Congratulations to one of our staff Emma Rose Lummus who
graduated last week with a post graduate diploma in Special Needs. Well done Emma.
Special Class: Each week in assembly I give a
certificate to a class who I am very proud
of. This week Room 7 received the certificate
for the fantastic way they keep their shoes
tidy and the way they work so hard.
Congratulations Room 7.
PS..(Along with the
award goes a 10 minute extra free time voucher…to be taken at the
beginning or finish of
a school break eg lunchtime)
Vandalism: Sadly from time to time we have people visit
our school (usually at night) and cause hundreds of dollars worth of damage. E.g.
breaking windows. This really saddens us as the repairs come out of our bucket
of money that also buys P.E. gear and learning materials and everything we need for the learning of
our children. The children and staff get quite upset when this happens as we
are all proud of our school. We ask that if you see anything that is suspicious
please contact the local police station as they are only too happy to come down
to the school.

Our

We would love your ideas: We are busy gathering ideas on all
parts of our school from our finances to our learning and from our special
programmes to our property. We are asking for your ideas too as you are the
other half of our important partnership. One way we could gather your ideas is
by holding some informal sessions between 2.00 and 3.00 in the afternoons.(
before you pick up your children) If you would be happy to join us with a cup
of coffee on a couple of occasions could you please fill in the slip below and
send it back to the office. We could
