9 April, 2009.

Dear Parents,

Here we are at the end of Term 1 – it has been such at busy time with lots of great teaching and learning experiences completed, and children working hard. I have loved getting to know them and their smiling faces.  We hope all children will enjoy a good break and come back totally refreshed and ready for Term 2 on 27th April.

Camp

Thank you for the wonderful support in getting our year 5 and 6 children to Highland Home.  A special thank you to parents and staff who so willingly gave up family time to support by being camp parents.

Sound of Music

Congratulations and all the best to Catherine Reynolds Room 9 year 6.  Catherine will play the part of Brigitta in the up coming family show the “Sound of Music”. We do hope you really enjoy being part of this family favourite show.

Sun Hats

Teachers will have checked all hats today and they will be stored at school until required in term 4.

Yummy Stickers

Keep collected the stickers off apples over the holidays.  We love to get full forms, - the more we get the more ‘free’ sports gear we receive.

Help in the School Garden

If you some time on your hands and are keen or gardening we would love to hear from you.  Our children love to garden but don’t always have time to do some of the necessary chores.  If you are able to help please contact the school office.

P.T.A. Update

Our next meeting is Tuesday May 5th at 7.00 p.m. in the staffroom which should only last for about an hour.  We are an friendly informal group of parents and teachers  who are always looking for new members and new ideas to raise money.  This money goes towards activities and equipment for the children.  For example, the P.T.A. has recently donated a large sum of money towards purchasing new sports uniforms for the school children. Our next fundraiser is Family Pies – look out for the order forms beginning of next term.
