Central Normal School is a vibrant learning environment where we encourage whanau to share all learning with their tamariki. There are regular events that enable students to demonstrate their increasing understanding across all curriculum areas.
At Central Normal School, we believe that the active and authentic involvement of students in their learning is crucial to engagement and achievement.
Students actively drive WISE within the school.
We believe that students are the heart of Central Normal School and actively seek student voice to make OUR school a great learning environment.
We offer quality teaching and learning by providing diversity and variety throughout our teaching teams. Each team provides stimulating and exciting learning opportunities for students making use of modern learning environments and ICT.
At Central Normal School classrooms are colourful, organised and reflect children’s learning.

It is with regret that we share with you that Pā Ropata, pouako in Akomanga 16 and Team Leader of Te Arawaru, will be leaving us next term. Pā Ropata has won a position as an RTLB (Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour).
Pā has been at Central Normal/Te Kura Tuatahi o Papaioea off and on for the past 16 years. Pā has been a much respected and admired leader of Te Arawaru, who has played a major role in the development and vision of Te Arawaru. Not only has Pā contributed a lot to Te Arawaru, but also our whole school in general.
Pā’s last day with us will be Friday 17 May. When we work out the details of Pā’s farewell, we will let you know.
